An Exclusion Zone allows you to ignore static objects in the sensors field of view.

For example, when the sensor can see a part of the vehicle it is mounted on (itself), you should draw an Exclusion Zone to mask out the vehicle so the AI does not detect it.

Below are screenshots of a Blindsight sensor installed on a grader to demonstrate the need for an Exclusion Zone.

  1. The first screenshot shows the AI detecting the rippers of the grader - pretty impressive! But not the type of detection we care about.
    ​

2. Here is a screenshot of the Exclusion Zone we've drawn to mask out the part of the vehicle that is being detected.
