What is a geofence?

A geofence is an area of interest drawn on a map, typically the boundaries of a work site.

A geofence gives you control over when to alert operators, and more meaningful reporting by restricting alerts based on a vehicle's movements inside and outside a geofence.

Geofence's can be used in one of two ways;

1. To alert the operator when a vehicle is inside a geofence.

2. To alert the operator when a vehicle is outside a geofence.

This type of control will help minimise unwanted alerts. For example, when driving in between work sites where irrelevant objects may be detected.

How to create a geofence

Step 1. Navigate to the BPUs tab

Step 2. Click on the BPU that requires a geofence

Step 3. Click "Create"

Step 4. Name your geofence

Step 5. Choose the "Alert when" criteria (inside or outside)

Step 6. Draw your geofence and "save"

Can I create more than one geofence for the same BPU?

Yes, you can create multiple geofences.

How accurate is the geofence?

We use GPS to know where a Blindsight BPU is located. The accuracy of our GPS will vary based on the environment. But generally, it is accurate +- 10 metres.
