Blindsight has an Alert Trigger that deliberately disables and enables detections when the machine is considered dangerous. The most common alert triggers are the parking brake, reverse gear or hydraulic lock.
β
When Blindsight is installed, the fitter locates a wire signal which sends 12-24v when the machines alert trigger is activated (reverse, parking brake, etc)
β
The status light on the in-cab alert will change colour based on your Alert Trigger state which is useful for troubleshooting.
Green means the alert trigger is activated and detections will be generated, and Yellow means the alert trigger is deactivated and detections will not be generated.
Troubleshooting step 1
Check all connections - are they tight, and in the right place?
Troubleshooting step 2
Check cables for damage - visually inspect alert trigger cabling, BPU harness, and vehicle wiring.
Troubleshooting step 3
Check fuses.
Troubleshooting step 4
Test the alert trigger signal with a multi meter to confirm it changes from 0v to 12-24v as the machines alert trigger is activated/deactivated.
Troubleshooting step 5
Run the same multi meter test on the Blindsight harness to confirm there isn't an issue with the harness itself.
